Limited AKC registration means the puppy is not to be bred. If you do breed him/her & they produce puppies, they cannot be AKC registered.

Full AKC registration costs more & gives you full breeding rights. This must be discussed with me & approved by me before purchase!

All of our puppies are vet checked at least 2 times before leaving our home by my licensed vet. They will be up to date on vaccinations & wormings. My vet checks their eyes, bite, fontanel, patellas (knees), hips, heart, lungs, for hernias (both inguinal & umbilical), their skin/coat & to make sure all the males have both testicles.

1. NO ONE can guarantee size or bone mass of any puppy. Most breeders make a "reasonable guess" based on what their dogs have produced in the past along with weight charts and formulas, but no one knows for sure.

2. Poms should be 3 - 7 lbs. as adults. There are pomeranians in the show ring that weigh 6 - 7 lbs. This is NOT big for a pom. There is no such thing as a "teacup" pom.

3. Sometimes breeders use terms to describe the face of poms such as "teddy bear", "baby doll" or "foxy". A pom who has a wide, short muzzle is said to have a "teddy bear" face. A "baby doll" face has a short and not so wide muzzle. A "foxy" face is a longer more narrow muzzle. All are acceptable for the show ring.

4. The "stop" is the point just below the eyes that meets the muzzle. You want that to be as close to 90 degrees as possible.

5. People often ask me which I prefer, male or female? In my personal experience, male poms are generally more loving, attentive, less moody and shed less. If they are fixed at a young age, they usually will not mark.

6. Pet quality puppies have one or more minor or major faults. Because of these faults the breeder feels they should be kept out of the show ring and breeding programs. Pet puppies make wonderful pets and as long as you are not showing or breeding, there is no reason not to buy a pet quality puppy.

7. There are many genetic defects that are associated with pomeranians. For example: luxating patellas, heart murmur, black skin disease, etc. As a breeder, I try my best to avoid and breed away from these deficiencies. Unfortunately, sometimes "nature" takes it's own course. As an example: luxating patellas can be caused by an injury due to a fall, accident or even a misstep. Therefore, it is impossible to give a long term guarantee against such conditions.

8. If you are looking for the "perfect" pom puppy, please be aware that there are many people looking for the same thing. Therefore, you must be willing to wait, sometimes years, for that "perfect" puppy. Please also keep in mind that breeding quality & "show prospect" puppies are more expensive.
